I’ve been involved with beads, some way or another, since I was a young child. I remember getting kits in the mail in the early 60’s from Native American tribes with little paper looms, a needle, some thread and some beads. I made a few bookmarks and belts for dolls, & then some jewelry in summer day camp, and then I kept playing with beads off and on throughout my adult life. During a particularly difficult time, beadwork became therapy. I moved to Texas in 1990 & began doing micro-Macramé in 1992, but it wasn’t until several years later that I discovered Lampworking (1995) and found out how much fun working with beads could REALLY be! I had a bad “bead habit”, and thought learning to make my own would enable me to expand my designs as well as cut down on expense…hehehehe.
I’ve done a lot of things in my life and this is something I really enjoy. I’ve found that trying to “make a living” doing a job I hate doesn’t make for living at all, so I’m creating a life for myself based on attempting to bring the beauty of Universe to you in my little glass and fiber creations.
I’ve been fortunate to have taken lampworking classes with Kate Fowle, Patti Walton, Jim Smirchich, Kimberly Affleck, Tink Martin & Loren Stump.
